Eindelijk ben ik dan afgestudeerd. Ik ben altijd van plan geweest om na mijn studie een AIO-plaats na te streven, maar op de één of andere manier vind ik dat nu niet meer aantrekkelijk. Ik neem liever het onderstaande citaat van Francis Bacon ter harte. Na zoveel theorie, wil ik weer iets doen dat niet volledig los staat van de rest van de wereld.

To spend too much time in studies is sloth [=luiheid]; to use them too much for ornament, is affectation; to make judgment wholly by their rules, is the humor of a scholar. They perfect nature, and are perfected by experience: for natural abilities are like natural plants, that need proyning [=snoeien], by study; and studies themselves, do give forth directions too much at large, except they be bounded in by experience.
